Wave Nats
While Marrawah’s poor/unreliable comms kept many of us on the mainland in the dark last week the first pics and comments from this year’s Neil Pryde Wave Nationals are just starting to appear on-line and from all accounts it was one hell of a week on the Apple Isle.
We’re still trying to confirm the final placings in all divisions but can confirm that Mick Westra (Sailworks) claimed the Open crown.

New Digs
Now if getting around and about during the height of the holiday season drove you to the edge of distraction spare a thought for Caloundra City Sailboards supremo Al Green who spent the “break” moving a veritable mountain of stock into his new shop at the corner of Bronwyn and Geoffrey Streets.
But in a classic case of “the more things change, the more things stay the same” you’ll still find the same great range, service, and specials on offer at the new-look Caloundra City Sailboards & Kayaks.

Formula Fiesta
With a good-looking forecast for the rest of the week the action will be fast and furious at Redcliffe during this year’s Australian and Oceanic Formula Titles.
And with a fleet that includes the PWA’s Steve Allen and Allison Shreeve, the racing should be red-hot.

Northern Nomads #1
And just as our racing mates are looking forward to the above, so too SEQ’s wavesailing community are awaiting “the call” regarding the location of this weekend’s proposed first round of the Qld Wavesailing Series.
The event won’t be a conventional wave contest per se but rather a sub-tropical version of the hugely successful “Nomadic” concept.
According to event co-ordinator Tony Marsh a decision will be made on Wednesday night regarding exactly where we’re off too with “the window” encompassing all breaks from Noosa in the north to Yamba in the south.
